Yeti Next Door (Yeti Undercover) Paperback – April 8, 2024
Purchase options and add-ons
Eula and Randi have noticed their next-door neighbor Abe engaged in some peculiar behaviors, such as hanging bells and eating grass. They’ve also noticed his proliferation of bushy white hair and unusual height. Their parents, Ian and Nina, reassure them he’s just an eccentric old man. However, they all learn the truth soon enough. Abe is a yeti, or member of the High Folk (as they prefer to be called). The yeti explains that he’s trying to get in contact with the Wander Folk or Sasquatch as humans more commonly know them.
After learning his secret, the family includes him in their regular activities. He ends up as an assistant coach to Eula’s basketball team and Randi’s partner in a wizard card tournament. Abe enlists the family’s help in his pursuit of the Wander Folk, leading them into a series of encounters with an unknown creature resembling the Jersey Devil. Along the way, they all learn more about each other and the world around them.
They also try to avoid the ire of their overly religious neighbor and his attempts to get Abe to repent his seemingly heathen ways. It doesn’t help that yeti have a tendency to mix up the variety of human myths. Luckily, Abe and the family receive some help from a quirky ice cream vendor named Finkle and the octopus at the local aquarium.
The result is a funny journey through myth, legend and the hidden truth in between, showing the importance of being open-minded.
